Awaken's Men's Ministry goes shooting!

Some of the men from Awaken (and one young lady) went out this morning to fire off a few rounds! It was a great time to just hang out and shoot at a bunch of whatever we could find. We all love the location because it's pretty safe and out in the woods.

Our guest lady was Cora Green. Wouldn't want to mess with her after seeing how well she can pull the trigger! I guess she's been getting some good training from her husband Mike.

Woven As One...a soapy experience

A Craft Gathering for the ladies...

Last night ten ladies got together at Judy's home to hang out, eat lots of goodies and make soap. We made oatmeal and cinnamon soap, rosemary soap and soap with real flower petals in it! A select few were even able to appreciate a foot-spa, thanks to Angela.


Thank you Judy for hosting and organising a great craft time. We learned a lot about how fun soap-making can be. Thank you Judy and Angela for sharing your supplies. Thank you to everyone who made and brought snacks for this event.

The next Woven As One on Monday June 8th at 6:30pm will be to do some scrapbooking. We will all bring and share our supplies, so feel free to come even if you don't have anything. There will be a special project, making pretty decorated cans (supplies will be provided).

June 7th - Breakfast - Pancakes, eggs, bacon and desert which is fresh peaches & Melons (if they are priced good if not we will have some other kind of fresh fruit!)

June 14th- Chicken Stew - salad, & desert apple cobbler.

June 21st - Sandwiches - chicken salad, ham & turkey, peanut butter & jelly, lettuce, tomato, and chips.

June 28th - Spaghetti - Salad, & Bread & a desert.

That's it...happy eating!

Woven As One - Women's Craft Gathering

Woven As One

Woven As One is a women's craft gathering that meets once a month. It is a wonderful time for women to connect, develop their talents and meet new friends. No special skills are necessary. Over the last year there have been classes on making jewelry, blankets, gift boxes, cards and knitting. Come and enjoy working with your hands learning a new skill in a relaxed environment.

May 11th 6:30pm: making handmade soap at Judy’s new house. All supplies are being provided, but bring small molds (yogurt pots etc) if you have any. Please email eunice@awakenolympia.com for more information.

Awaken Serves - Free Community Car Washes

Hey Awaken!

It's that time of year again when we'll need to get ready to serve our community through free car washes!

Here are a few details we have so far -

Dates:
June 7th
July 5th
August 2nd
September 6th

Time:
9am for set-up
10am to be open to the public

What are we doing?

We'll be serving our community through free car washes. Not only will we wash their car...we'll also vacuum and Armor All - Awesome!

This is a great way to show our love to our community! It is also a small way to show the love of Christ by doing something without any expectation of getting something in return. It is the hope that we'll be able to connect with our community in a more tangible way.
